Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 26, 2025

MeetOye ("we," "us," or "our") provides a browser-based video meeting platform at meetoye.com. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using MeetOye you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google OAuth. We store your email and name to identify your account within MeetOye.

Meeting data

We store meeting metadata (title, schedule, participant list, host), audio transcripts produced by our Oya AI assistant, and AI-generated meeting recaps. Recordings are stored on our server only when you explicitly start a cloud recording.

Usage and technical data

We collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, errors) for security and reliability purposes.

2. Google API Data — Limited Use Disclosure

MeetOye integrates with certain Google APIs. Our use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Google Sign-In

We use Google Sign-In to authenticate users. We receive your Google account email address and display name. This data is used solely to create and manage your MeetOye account. We do not use this data for advertising.

Google Drive integration (optional)

If you choose to connect Google Drive, MeetOye requests the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file scope. This scope grants MeetOye access only to files that MeetOye itself creates — we cannot read or modify any other files in your Google Drive.

We use this access solely to export your meeting recordings to your Google Drive on your explicit request. We do not:

  • Read files you did not create through MeetOye.
  • Share your Drive files with any third party.
  • Use Drive data for advertising or analytics.
  • Retain Drive credentials after you disconnect the integration.
OAuth tokens for Google Drive are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM and stored in our database. You can disconnect Google Drive at any time from Settings → Integrations → Google Drive → Disconnect. Disconnecting deletes your stored tokens immediately. You can also revoke MeetOye's access at any time from Google Account Permissions.

Google Calendar integration (optional)

If you choose to connect Google Calendar, MeetOye requests the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events scope to read and create calendar events so you can schedule meetings from MeetOye. We access only events you explicitly interact with via MeetOye. Tokens are encrypted at rest and deleted when you disconnect the integration.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and operate the MeetOye meeting platform.
  • Generate AI transcripts and recaps (via Oya) for meetings you attend.
  • Send transactional emails: meeting invitations, recap emails, and account notices.
  • Diagnose technical issues and maintain service reliability.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal information with third parties except:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery via Resend). They are contractually restricted from using your data for any other purpose.
  • Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of MeetOye and its users.
  • Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will provide notice before your data is subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Meeting transcripts and recaps are retained indefinitely or until you delete them from the meeting detail view. Cloud recordings are retained until you delete them. If you delete your account, all associated data is deleted within 30 days except where retention is required by law.

Google OAuth tokens are deleted immediately when you disconnect an integration or delete your account.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Withdraw consent for optional features (e.g., Google Drive integration).
  • Export a copy of your data.

To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@meetoye.com.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including TLS in transit and AES-256-GCM encryption for stored OAuth tokens. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we will notify you of any breach affecting your data as required by applicable law.

8. Children

MeetOye is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date. For material changes we will notify you by email or by a notice on the site.
