How Oya AI Works: MeetOye's Built-in Meeting Intelligence
Oya is the AI assistant built into MeetOye. Unlike third-party notetaker bots, Oya does not join your meeting as a separate participant — it is part of the meeting platform itself, active on every call without any setup.
What Oya does during a meeting
- Live transcription: Oya transcribes the meeting in real time, producing a speaker-labeled transcript visible in the Oya panel during the call.
- Live captions: participants can view real-time captions overlaid on the meeting interface.
- Live translation: for multilingual meetings, captions can be translated in real time across supported languages.
What Oya does after a meeting
- Recap generation: Oya summarizes the meeting content into a structured recap with a summary, key decisions, and action items.
- Recap email: every attendee receives the recap by email when the meeting ends — no one needs to write or send it.
- Ask Oya: after the meeting, participants can ask questions about what was discussed, using the saved meeting context to generate answers.
What Oya does not do
Oya does not use your meeting content to train external AI models. Audio processing happens within MeetOye infrastructure. In strict E2EE mode, Oya is disabled — media stays in participant browsers and no transcription is produced. Workspace administrators can configure Oya behavior, retention, and privacy settings at the organizational level.
