How to Run Remote Board Meetings That Produce Real Decisions

MO

PRODUCT

Board meetings carry governance weight that ordinary team calls do not. Decisions made in board meetings create legal records, authorize actions, and define the company's direction. This makes the quality of the meeting record a governance requirement, not a convenience — and it makes the case for AI-generated meeting records particularly strong in a board meeting context.

What board meetings need from meeting infrastructure

  • A complete, attributed record of what was discussed and decided.
  • Clear documentation of who voted or agreed on which resolutions.
  • A recap that can be reviewed by legal and governance functions.
  • Access controls that keep the meeting record confidential.

Running the meeting itself

Send the board package at least 48 hours in advance so board time is spent on discussion, not briefing. Start with the most important items — many board meetings run long because procedural items consume time before strategic ones get to them. Timebox the call and end with explicit decisions documented.

A board that reads the materials in advance and comes with questions is worth two hours of focused time. A board that expects to be briefed in the meeting is worth much less.

Introducing Oya — the AI that sits in every MeetOye call

Every MeetOye meeting ships with Oya, a built-in assistant that listens, transcribes, translates and emails a recap. No bots to invite, no plugins to install.

Live translation, explained — everyone speaks their own language

A participant speaks Urdu, another reads English, a third reads Arabic — all in the same call, in near real time. Here is how MeetOye makes that feel effortless.
